Little details that aren’t missed in quality construction!

As the architect  we spec many details in the construction documents.  Thank you Paddy for pointing out an excellent example of the use of sill tape as Illinois will be updating from the 2009 IECC energy codes to the latest published 2012 edition.

“Over the last 20-30 years sealing windows properly against air and water has become very important for energy costs and to protect against  rot. Gerry's framing crew did an excellent job on taping Tyvek seams and also taping the windows and doors properly. My compliments to his crew - it is extremely helpful to the industry and most importantly - our customers!” - Paddy Noone, Shillings Lumber
