Thanksgiving Day Trivia -The first Thanksgiving feast was in 1621. -The Wampanoag tribe was the first Native American tribe to celebrate with the colonists.  -Benjamin Franklin lobbied to make the turkey the national symbol.  -Abraham Lincoln specified that Thanksgiving would fall on the last Thursday of November.  -Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the holiday to the fourth Thursday in November to create a longer Christmas shopping season.   -90% of American homes will eat turkey on Thanksgiving.  -Evidence shows that the turkey has been around for over 10 million years.  -The largest turkey ever raised was 86 pounds.

Sue and I and about 75 Stagg HS students, and some very dedicated teachers were there last night. See that guy who's hand I am shaking.......some 70+ years ago he was the same age as at least 1/4 of the students I was with. Only he was 30,0000 feet above ground with some very angry Germans shooting at him.  Shaking his hand was an honor.
